The Goal of True Education

"Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education."- Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr.

An individual is made up only of its own character traits and Martin states that withing every individual with intelligence must also have a true form of character. It is with no doubt that we are all intelligent in our own ways however, not many of us have our own appropriate form of character to go along with it. Our attitudes, the way we react and respond are all forms of character. Intelligence itself without a form of a particular behavior is what sets you apart from the rest of the population. A leader who is intelligent although disobedient, and arrogant is an example of not having a form of character. When looking up to leader, we expect the individual to be persistent, fair, intelligent, and also trustworthy. Without it your intelligence would be completely meaningless.
