In any encounter we experience in our everyday lives, we are put to the test to analyze and to stimulate our strengths and weaknesses in order to know our boundaries and limits. Often time we are brought into temptation and are reeled into having feel the need of pleasure that comes with guilt. We feel that the things that make us often time happy or well is sometimes not always the right, or healthy thing to do. We must project ourselves to get used to the idea of having choosing the right rather the wrong. The wrong will never turn out to be the way that you encounter it to be no matter what the intentions be. Wrong never brings a right around. We must limit our boundaries and temptations in order to choose and do what’s right.

Be True

"I am not bound to win, but i am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with when he goes wrong." - Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln

A statement in which explains that an individual should always be true to him or herself. Doing what is right even if you didn't win is the biggest accomplishment of all. It is the biggest reward and the greatest gift. You must always be true even it isn't right, even if the morals are wrong, whatever is right is always the path to choose. Our choices are what defines us and it is up to us to choose our destiny by the different choices we make and encounter in with our lives.

Work Hours: Correctional officers usually work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, on rotating shifts. Because jail and prison security must be provided around the clock, officers work all hours of the day and night, weekends, and holidays. Some correctional facilities have longer shifts and more days off between scheduled workweeks. Many officers are required to work overtime.

Reflection:
Being a correctional officer requires many specific responsibilities and duties. The lives and health factors of these inmates are in the hands and care of these officers. They are responsible to make sure the inmates are in their best behavior, they must search their rooms and belongings for any health risks, enforce rules and authority, report , etc. I am hoping to pursue my education in learning Sociology to become a correctional officer to a Juvenile Court Prison. Being able to be involved with juveniles who are focusing on only doing bad gives me enough motivation to study and conquer this career path.
