Student Success Statement

"What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player" -John Wooden

There is much more to an individual within an athlete as if it were with anyone else. An athlete is what categorizes us and divides us from the rest. Being an athlete takes serious commitment and effort to doing what other people wont be able to do. Being an athlete requires allot of an individuals time and all an athlete can do is feed off of the training they do. There is definitely much more than just a person in a sport. An athlete is also just as equal and common amongst other people. Being a person is much more important because being who you are is what DEFINES exactly WHO you are. There is nobody else who knows you as well as you know yourself. A person should be just as easily motivated and compassionate about life as an athlete would to a sport. Anybody can be a star athlete while in the real world they can be the biggest wanted criminal. Defining and profiling who are is what truly matter to not only other but yourself as well.
