Nursing Home Administrator

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Caring for Nursing Home Residents and their Families
  •  Managing Nursing Home Staff
  • Taking Financial Reins
  •  Complying with Federal and State Procedure
  •  Maintaining a Nursing Home Facility 

Salary:
~Expect to earn between $65,000 and $90,000,

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration
  • master's in long-term care administration
  • health services administration/ related field recommended
  • State training program, internship, licensing and continuing education



Reflection: 
Being a Nursing Home Administrator requires a lot of work that deals with having a great deal patience, gentle care, attention, and lots of creative ways to make the patients very comfortable. You must perform tasks such as keeping a particular patient happy, giving the patient their daily  medication, making sure they eat throughout the day, making sure they use the restroom and get enough rest to function, as well as making sure their minds and body are exercising as well. Very well communication skills are also required to work with patients. Communication is key to making the patients feel more at home and comfortable. You must even perform tasks as simple as doing laundry and making beds. All in which are a Nursing Home Administrators jobs.
