Medical Scientist

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant

• Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart

• Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant

• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment

Salary: $90,230

Education:

• Healthcare field and medical specialty

• Medical terminology

• Grammar, spelling, and punctuation

• Knowledge of EHRs (if applicable)

Demand for this profession: As the demand for medical scientists increases, so does the medical scientist salary, as shown by the history of earnings. Between 2002 and 2004, medical assistants earned an average of $25,000 a year.

Reflection: Being a Medical Scientist would be a great privilege and a an honor to be apart if , if i ever have the opportunity to the job. The environment itself where the scientists work are far more different than what a regular doctor or therapist would work in. These scientists work in laboratories , offices, and even in specialized rooms to study the biology of the body and the drugs it needs. All of it coming from the major of biology. TO be a scientist i must have a PHD in order to work as one as well. All in which can be an amazing yet difficult goal to accomplish , but definitely not impossible.
