Volunteer Opportunities

Medical and Healthcare Volunteer Abroad

•  Medical volunteer abroad placements are available from various healthcare fields including nursing, general medicine, dental, physical therapy, speech therapy, psychiatry, and more. Help at rural clinics, provide psychological treatment for abused women and children, and more.

Dental Students

• Volunteers can observe local dentists in-country and get tangible experience with dentistry abroad. Additionally, dental students can help clean teeth and assist dentists in the community. Click for information about the Dental Programs.
• Locations: Peru, Ghana, Nepal, Ecuador
• For Students or Non-Professional Volunteers Interested in Healthcare
• Volunteers have the opportunity to teach at a Cancer Institute in Tanzania or those with Spanish language skills can work in a clinic setting to assist local staff while spending time with and encouraging patients.

Physical and Speech Therapy 

• Depending on experience volunteers will either assist at a physical therapy clinic for either children or adults or work at a rehabilitation center for mentally disabled children.
• Locations: Ecuador, Chile, Tanzania
•  Psychology/Psychiatric Projects
•  Psychologists and psychology students will work at women’s shelters and juvenile detention centers to provide counseling and assist the organizations. 
• Psychiatrists can also work at a psychiatric clinic in Peru.

Nurses

•  Nurses work with local clinics and assist staff with minor procedures such as blood work, shot injections, IV set up, and more.

When applying:

1. Please be prepared to upload your resume and cover letter detailing why you want to volunteer , and be ready to answer a few application questions. The entire process should take no more than 10-20 minutes.

What to expect once you have successfully submitted your application:

1. You will receive a confirmation email once we acquire your application.
2. Your application will be reviewed by our headquarters and field staff.
3. Once approved, we will contact you for an interview, and then we will work with you for credentials submission and background check.
